The subject of Forensic Medicine is taught in 3rd Year MBBS. It deals with the training of students for conduction of postmortem and medico-legal examinations, techniques for the detection of poisons and trace evidence materials. Search for truth is the essence of Forensic Medicine.
The department has a museum containing a variety of teaching materials like pictures & models showing various forms of violence, weapons of assault, autopsy instruments, and poisons. There is a Toxicology & Serology Lab.
Forensic Medicine Department is supervised by qualified and experienced faculty. This department has a well-equipped laboratory and its museum houses, number of models, specimens, mountings, charts, skeleton, and x- rays, highlighting various medical and aspects essential for learning to keep abreast with advanced teaching in the subject.
